Mini Cooper Fun Sized, Make Driving History
Born from a need for fuel-efficient vehicles during a time when a number of countries, including the UK, were experiencing fuel shortages, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper auto parts debuted in 1959. Lord Nuffield of British Moto Corporation (BMC) challenged Sir Alec Issigonis to design a car four feet wide, four feet high and just ten feet long, that could also seat four adults comfortably, fit their luggage, plus compete with the onslaught of fuel-efficient micro cars on the market.
Mini Cooper - Fuel Efficiency in a Sporty, Fun Package
Sir Alec Issigonis met the challenge placed upon him. Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper auto parts included a transversally-placed engine that made the Classic Mini the first mass-produced automobile to provide this space-saving feature. The strategic placement of the engine made for ample passenger room and lent itself to a proportionately large wheelbase. Mini Cooper auto parts helped to create the economical Mini Cooper, with plenty of passenger breathing room, in a fun to drive sporty package. In fact, the Classic Mini became the first sedan to truly handle like a sports car. From the rich and famous to everyday people, the Classic Mini was an attractive, affordable car for all. With front-wheel drive and wheel-at-each-corner design, the Classic Mini was also quite roadworthy. In 1961, legendary British race car driver, John Cooper set new motor sport standards. Mini Cooper auto parts from the Classic Mini were re-tooled to achieve a higher performance, racing version appropriately named Mini Cooper. Innovative Mini Cooper auto parts included a more powerful engine, higher and closer gear rations, better brakes, wider tires, and a color-contrasting roof to stand out in the crowd. An even more innovative version was released in 1963: Mini Cooper S was a racing car of the purest variety. Between 1964 and 1967 the Mini Cooper became a racing phenomenon. Fine-tuned Mini Cooper auto parts earned it triple Monte Carlo rally wins along with first place prize in a number of other races on the international rally circuit. The Cooper name has been closely associated with performance Minis ever since. With its charming character and boosted power, the Mini Cooper provided a most pleasurable driving experience for any motorist. It's no surprise that 100% authentic Mini Cooper auto parts became so popular in Europe. In fact, Mini Cooper became Britain's best-ever selling vehicle with more than 5.3 million produced. American enthusiasts were saddened when Minis took hiatus in the US, beginning in 1968, due to the government issue of new Safety and Emissions Regulations. In 2001, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper auto parts returned to the States, when BMW Group built the successor of the Classic Mini: MINI Cooper. Cutting-edge technology makes MINI Cooper one of the most advanced cars of its size. Modern Mini Cooper auto parts are designed for handling and performance. With great looks and advanced safety features, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper auto parts continue its tradition by offering fuel efficiency in a sporty, fun package that appeals to a wide array of driving enthusiasts.
